Welcome to Power of HOPE Community Organization
Helping Other People Everyday
The Power of HOPE & Community
Through the generosity of friends, families, local businesses, donors and fundraising events, Power of HOPE Community Organization is able to provide essential items needed by low income families, children and women in crisis.
Some of the items donated include pyjamas, toiletries, towels and soft toys. Each year we hold Pyjama and Stuffed Toy drives where we ask local businesses to collect donations on our behalf.
If you would like to donate or host a drive, visit the Oxford County chapter website to see how you can get involved.
About Power of HOPE Community Organization
Power of HOPE Community Organization became a not-for-profit in 2011 and a charity in 2014, but it all began back in 2005 with Hurricane Katrina. When Penny, our Founder heard about the desperate need for the bare essentials by families who had lost, not only their homes, but all their possessions, she went into action by collecting items she could send to the devastated families of New Orleans.
In 2012, Power of HOPE expanded into the Woodstock area when Karen Geerts joined the Board of Directors.
In 2016, Power of HOPE expanded once again into the London area with Dan Knight and Karen Green joining the team.
In December 2023, the decision was made to close the London Chaper due to local organizations no longer needing our Christmas packages.
All money raised and donations received in each of these areas stay in the community.

How you can help
Host a Pyjama and Stuffed Toy Drive
Every year Power of HOPE collects pyjamas, stuffed toys and other essential items to give to families and children in need at Christmas time. Want to make next Christmas more enjoyable for families in need?
Contact us to host a PJ & Stuffed Toy Drive.
London Chapter Closure
After many tough conversations and as a result of changes to many organizations we have supported over the years no longer needing our help, we have made the decision to close the London Chapter at the end of 2023.
We can’t thank you enough for your support over the years helping to leave a lasting impact on many in our community!
Know that what we have in inventory is going to be distributed locally and given to our Power of HOPE – Oxford County Chapter!
We also invite you to continue to support Power of HOPE through our Oxford Chapter!
Thanks again!
